I get totally siked when my couples are so excited about my work that they book me on the spot! That is exactly what Teresa did at our first meeting just 2 weeks ago! One down, and one more to go! Both of my associates are on maternity leave right now to have some really cute babies...and Lia is the first one here!! Melissa and her family are so excited she is finally here and since Melissa had a C-section, I got to come get the whole family greeting her in the hospital the very next day! Lori and Jimmy are such amazing people!! Its so easy to photograph people when they have so much of a personality and so animated with their excitement! OK, the ONLY reason I haven't been blogging is because I have been shooting non-stop with spring portraits!! Its crazy, people come out of the wood works when spring hits, but I am loving every minute of it!!

Most of you have already seen the sneak peak of this crazy family on FB, but here are my favorites in its entirety. My sister, Jessica said she wanted something that reflected everyones personality for their family pic...so I pondered this for a few weeks and I know them so well I came up with this...

Its not your average family portrait, but thats whay I love about it! The best thing is that they have ordered a HUGE gallery wrap for their home of the crazy one...which makes me smile cheak to cheak! Here are the rest of my favs:

Two e-sessions is always more fun than one! Colleen wanted to do a session in Dallas and then since they met and fell in love in Tulsa, she decided to fly me to her home town in OK! In Dallas, we had some fun at mockingbird station then at flipper park with all the pretty blooms! Then the next week in Tulsa we stopped at Woodward Park with their cute babies and then downtown to get some cool urban shots. Here are just a few of my favs:

I absolutely loved how Kristen and Dennis incorporated Dennis being in the Navy into their elegant wedding. You know that famous photo of the sailor dipping his girl and giving her a big kiss in public?... Well when Dennis decided to do that when the officiant called them man and wife, I got chills! And their band selection was the most unique thing about there day!! The Spasmatics totally took this party by storm and rocked the house!! And when it started snowing I begged Kristen to go outside for a snow shot. In the begining of the night she refused, but after the band got the room really dancin and hot, I asked her one more time...obviously she said YES!!! It is so much fun shooting at new places in Dallas! I have been shooting weddings so long, sometimes I feel I have been everywhere but weddings like this remind me there is so much more to discover in Dallas!! Jenna and Clayton had their ceremony at Highland Park Methodist Church in Cox Chapel then we headed to 7 Senses down in arts district of Dallas. As you probably noticed from her bridals in the previous post, this place is a photographers dream...so many colors and textures to play off of!! The whole night was fabulous!! Here are a few of my favs:

Man, its been hard to hold on to these till after the wedding! But since Clayton, tends to jump on my blog a bit, we decided it would probably be best to wait to post her bridals...just in case he tried to peek! This place is called 7 senses and it was like a photographers play ground when it came to cool backdrops for her portraits! I was bummed to hear they only let you shoot there when your having your event at his furniture store. Yes, I said furniture store, but its more like a artist gallery because he specializes in custom made furniture. All I could say was WOW!! Then we ended the session at the Cresent Court. Since January and February has so much down time, I thought it would be fun to create a fun glamor session! And to make things more interesting I went and asked a few vendors I have worked with before to see if they wanted in on some of the wedding fun! All I knew is that I had this gorgeous vintage wedding dress from my husbands grandmother to play with. She tried to put it on ebay...I quickly stopped that from happening!! I never pass up a free wedding dress!!
It was way too cold but we had so much fun!!

I DID IT!!!! This is a huge milestone for me in my career, to have a photo place in the AGWPJA photo contest!! This is a world wide contest held quarterly by the Aristic Guild of Wedding Photojournalist Association. I screamed so loud and started crying so hard when I saw it, that my little Lauren ran to me and said "Mommy, whats wrong!!". Thanks Lindsay and Brandon for sharing this special moment with me on your wedding day! :)

I have been super over whelmed with making my new house feel like home...so along with that I have been crazy busy for the last few weeks!! I know you think I disappeared off the face of the earth...but I am still here and its in the middle of portrait season so I have lots to share with you! I shot Amie's wedding about 2 years ago and she brought her sisters this time for a family session as a present for their parents! They absolutely cracked me up during the entire session!! It was so easy to get some fun shots! Here are my favs:

Another past couple from about 1 1/2 years ago!! Your going to be seeing alot of Jennifer and Todd for the next year or so because they got my Baby's First Year Package so stayed tuned about every 3 months for an updated session with them and their new addition to their family, Kendall! Their were 9 grandkids under the age of 12 and we got some awesome shots! I was excited how well these kids took my direction all at once!! We also did some cute individual shots for Christmas cards with each family! Here are my favs:

I don't do many corprate events, but they are really sorta nice every once in awhile to change things up a bit! Samsung was having their yearly convention in Las Colinas and Shellie from the Vega Group called me up to capture the atmosphere and mingling for a few hours. We traveled to the great state of Minnisota to photograph Amy and Jason's wedding! It was beautiful there...and I loved being the girl with the accent. WOW, 2009 has been a popular year for a lot of my past brides to have babies! Heather and Luke were married about a year and a half ago and now they have a precious baby boy in their lives! Dylan has gorgeous long, thick, dark hair and the most perfect skin I have seen on a newborn! Heather worked her magic and got him in a deep sleep so we could put him in some fun places. You just saw her gorgeous bridals, now here is the handsome groom to complete the story! Niki had an idea of going to an old diner and of course I loved that idea!! I found Metro Diner in downtown that has been their since 1962 and loved the red vinyl booths and bar stools! Then Hickory Street Annex was just around the corner, so we finished up the shoot there! kristen + dennis are engaged

Well, they are actually already married legally, but its not official till you have a big bash, right?? We shot their engagements at the waterfalls of Canyon Creek. Dennis is in the Navy and mentioned to me for their wedding all his groomsmen are going to be dressed in their blue navy uniforms...that is going to be so cool and make for some awesome photos! It's been a SUPER summer of fabulous weddings and I have had some AMAZING couples to play with! The year is definatly not over and I have a bunch more to come...but its time for a BIG break to rejuvenate my creative juices and play with my family in Michigan! I can't wait to relax and get some good R&R...if you need me right away you can call me and leave a message and I will be answering my voice mail a few times. We shot Lindsay and Brandons wedding last night, so I finally get to share her bridals with you. With about a million friends on facebook, she asked me to keep it secret for while. Lindsay and her mom are the sweetest people and we had so much fun at her bridals! She decided she loved the Mansion at Turtle Creek and all its cool little corners. She is such a natural and really worked it for me! Here are some of my favs:

They had a gorgeous ceremony at The Heights Baptist Church in Dallas and the reception was celebrated at Crown Plaza in Addison. Zach is a firefighter and I loved how she tied in his profession with some of the cool details for the wedding!! Take a look at their slideshow:

This was my first time shooting at this gorgeous old church in Fort Worth and I took advantage of it! Diana and Zac are such a sweet couple, I loved see them get emotional down the isle when they first saw each other...it gave me chills! And their reception was at a new place too...the McDavid's Studio at Bass Hall which is a goregous loft style venue in the heart of downtown Fort Worth. Click play to see some of my favs:

When you have a wedding party of 24 you are bound to have a ton of fun!! That is exactly the case with Sarah and Josh's wedding. This was my 4th visit this year to Holy Trinity Catholic Church...that alot for one church! Shari with "As you wish..." hooked Sarah up with some AWESOME vendors which made everything run so smoothy. I loved the unique peacock feathers that were added in the foral design everywhere...thanks to Wildflower Floral Design! And Michelle and I had to partake in the fun photobooth!! Kristen had a great idea to shoot her bridals at her finance's family ranch in Lucas, TX...and I absolutely loved that she was willing to do that!! Being at a farm, it was almost sorta a trash the dress session because of all the dirt and mud...but she knew that is the price to pay for awesome images!! And you might as well have fun in your dress, because you only get to where it a few times before it hangs in a closet forever!
